Getting Through the Holidays Together
The holidays can be a wonderful time, but they can also bring extra stress, difficult family situations, loneliness, and celebrations where alcohol or drugs are present. For someone struggling or working to stay in recovery, that added pressure can make this time of year especially challenging. What helps you get through the holidays? Maybe it’s having someone you can call, making a plan before a gathering, setting a boundary, or giving yourself permission to leave when you need to. What works for one person may not work for everyone, and that’s okay. If you have an idea or experience you’re comfortable sharing, it might help someone else feel less alone. And if you’re having a hard time right now, you’re welcome to ask a question or simply read along. There’s no pressure to share more than you want to. We’re building this community together, one conversation at a time. 💙
