A Community Built From Personal Experience

Addiction has affected several people I love, and I have seen how deeply it can impact an entire family. I am not an addict myself, but I have experienced the worry, confusion, broken trust, hope, and healing that often surround addiction and recovery. I originally created Ask An Addict more than a decade ago because I saw a need for a place where people could ask honest questions without being judged. What began as a website became a real community. People struggling with addiction, people in recovery, and their loved ones came together to listen, share what they had learned, and remind one another that they were not alone. Years later, I decided to bring Ask An Addict back because that need has never gone away. My hope is to rebuild the same kind of caring community—a place where lived experience matters, difficult questions are welcome, and people can find understanding from someone who has been there. I do not pretend to have all the answers. I am here to listen, learn, and help create a safe place where honesty is met with compassion and hope.
